We have been able to find a large stock of the Von Duprin 050709 Dogging Assembly, the older version of the Von Duprin Dogging Assembly used on devices shipped before 1997. The dogging assembly is the piece you put your 5/32″ hex key into and lock the exit device in the open position. This device was used on the 22, 33, 35, 98 and 99 Series devices. It some times went by the number Von Duprin part # 050153, but was updated to 050709 in the early 2000’s.
They are still manufacturing the Von Duprin 050709, but it is now done by another company and not Von Duprin. For many years we were not able to get this part, and many schools and institutions had to switch there dogging over to cylinder dogging to solve this issue. All that is involved to switch out the old style dogging assembly is remove the end cap, and slide the cover plate over to access the old dogging assembly. From there it is as simple as removing 2 to 4 screws and putting the new one in place.
The mounting plate measures 2-1/2″ x 1-11/16″,and the mounting screws are 1″ on center, the shaft uses a 5/32″ dog key. The Old Style Dogging Assembly can be ordered on our website von duprin 050709 old style dogging assembly . Our part # on this part is G050709 .
We stock replacement parts for all of the Von Duprin Exit Devices in our Troy Michigan Warehouse. We stock the old and new style dogging assemblies, latches, cover plates, strikes and screws. ]]>A recent statistic states that 40% of people do not wash there hands after using the restroom. The Door Foot Pull is a great way to create germ free environment in your school, restaurant, church or public facility. This product is the perfect solution where patrons and employee’s wash their hands and then have to grab a door pull to open the door. Instead they use the foot pull to pull the door open, that way they are not spreading germs. The Door Foot Pull Plate is made of a die cast aluminum material that measures 8″ across by 7″ tall and has a projection of 3-3/8″. The inside of the pull has a rubber padded for comfort. The Foot Pull comes with all the mounting hardware and includes a how to use sticker or door sign to show patrons how to use. My wife and I ran across this product in a Northern Michigan restaurant 7 years ago and were amazed that no one had thought about it earlier. Robert Brooke and Associates is one of there certified vendors and always has this product in stock.
]]>One problem we see often is wind catching doors and throwing them open, causing damage to the hinges and door frame. Our first thought is usually increasing the back check on the door closer, or a floor or wall mounted bumper. The first thought is still correct, but sometimes you have applications were you can not do that. That is when I recommend the Crash Chain Door Stop. The Ives CS115 Crash Chain Door Stop is a heavy duty chain with heavy duty springs on both ends, which is wrapped in a leatherette (faux leather) cover. By mounting the Crash Chain to the door and the door frame, you can stop the door before the hinges, and door closer arm get ripped off the door. They come in 3 sizes, 20-1/2″, 25-1/2″ and 30-1/2″, so you can work around the placement of your existing door closer. What I recommend you do is take a string, and see where you can fit a 20-1/2″, 25-1/2″ or 30-1/2″ length that will not interfere with your door closer. We have had this product on our front door for the past 18 years, and it has worked great!

The Glynn Johnson Sensaguard 280 is the correct overhead door holder for you if you have an existing door closer and your Fire Marshall or Building Inspector has asked you to keep interior doors closed. Generally, many apartment buildings have doors that the tenets prop open with door stops or wedges. ]]>We sell a lot of floor mounted door stops, but one door stop I have been pushing for the past 24 years is our part number RB540. The door stop is simply the best, it will stop a snow plow! While maybe not, but it is extremely heavy duty and the only way to ruin it is to hit it with a snow plow! The door stop is 3″ in diameter and 2″ high, and is made of a black rubber bushing. The heavy duty door stop is held in place by a 4-1/2″ long by 1/2″ diameter steel lag bolt, with a lead expansion shield, all included with the door stop. This 4-1/2″ long steel lag bolt holds the rubber bushing in place making it extremely heavy duty for the heaviest doors. The last piece is the cap, that is brushed chrome that goes over the lag bolt that give that finished look. The door stop can be ordered on our website.

]]>One product we sell a lot of are overhead door holders and stops. Many people in commercial and residential applications have doors they would like to lock in the open position. But due to the location or bottom of door clearance on patio doors, a regular kick down door stop will not work. My solution for this is to use the Overhead Door Holder shown on this page. I have some installed on by house and we just love the fresh air that it allows into our house.
]]>Frequently we are asked, “What is the heaviest duty kick down holder you sell?” The answer to that question is any of Grand Specialty door holders. These door stops are American made and simply the best out there. They have a shoe that is held in place by a screw, a rivet instead of a roll pin for the hinging mechanism, and a “wedge” instead of a piece of spring steel to hold up the leg. You can order these at our website.
